Depth Charges - submarine hunt 1.3.1

This game transports players back to the golden age of microcomputers, drawing inspiration from a late 70s game developed by Gremlin. It utilizes the vibrant colors of a C64 palette while incorporating a contemporary twist, evoking nostalgic memories for aficionados of the era.

Similar to classic games from the retro 70s or 80s, the objective is straightforward: eliminate as many submarines as possible without succumbing yourself. Players are armed solely with barrel-shaped depth charges launched from their destroyer.

The submarines retaliate by firing torpedoes and attempting to bombard players with mines. While ammunition is unlimited, there can only be four depth charges in the water simultaneously. Thus, regeneration is contingent on existing charges exiting the screen or hitting a target.

Throughout gameplay, a sonar ping sounds each time a new submarine surfaces. In normal mode, a torpedo warning alerts players whenever torpedoes are deployed by a submarine. It's crucial to note that submarines target players' ships, contributing to an immersive sub hunt experience reminiscent of the retro gaming era's allure.
